otherwise stated in a written and signed contract:
1. Alpha Farm
reserves the right to refuse any sale for any reason at any
time.
2. Prices and terms subject to change at any time without notice
3. Horses are sold "as is"
4. Prices posted anywhere except this page are not valid except by
private written contract
5. Most, but not all, horses will be offered on terms to qualified
buyers with a 20% (minimum $250) deposit. No interest
will be charged in most cases. Deposits are
non-refundable except as specified in the contract.
6. Most sales include a 30 day free board period to give buyers a chance to arrange for
transportation. After 30 days, board will be charged.
See Conditions for Boarding below.
7. Registration papers, transfer papers, and stallion certificates
will not be given to the buyer until the horse leaves and
all financial obligations including purchase price and board
have been paid. The only exception to this will be
horses that are on long term board.
8. Buyers are responsible for cost of coggins test, health papers,
pre-purchase exams, and transportation unless otherwise
specified in the contract. Buyers are
welcome to talk to our vet about the horse/pony they are
purchasing and are
encouraged to have a pre-purchase exam performed by any
licensed equine veterinarian.

Conditions for Long-Term Board
The following terms shall apply to all horses being boarded
unless otherwise stated in a written and signed contract:
1. Buyers will be offered a 30 day free board period for new
purchases to give buyers time to make transportation
arrangements. After 30 days, board will be charged
at a rate of $8 per day or $225 per month. Mares
with nursing foals are counted as one horse until the foal
is weaned or turns 4 months old. (Note:
Hay, grain, and bedding prices have more than doubled in
this area in just 2 years. This has forces us to raise
board significantly. If prices go back down, board will be
dropped accordingly)
2. Board includes only food (grass, hay, "normal" feed or grain, beet pulp), water,
bedding, salt or mineral block, worming, hoof trims
(not shoeing) every 6-10 weeks, turnout (weather permitting), and
handling for farrier and veterinarian care.
3. Board does not include training, any veterinarian or dental care,
emergency farrier care, shoeing, medications, extra vitamins
and minerals, specialized feeds/grains, blankets, sweating, or anything else not
specifically listed in #2 above or in the board contract
4. A deposit equal to one month's board plus first month's board is
due the day board begins. Thereafter, board
will be due the first of each month. The board deposit
will be refunded after the horse leaves and all financial
obligations are met to both Alpha Farm and third parties
such as veterinarians or farriers.
5. Boarders will be required to set up an account with a local
equine veterinarian and to agree to allow emergency care if
the boarder can't be contacted
6. All horses not purchased from Alpha Farm must show proof of both
vaccinations and properly timed boosters administered
by a veterinarian. Vaccinations will be administered
thereafter at the boarder's expense and on
the same schedule as other horses at Alpha Farm.
Currently required
vaccinations include Tetanus, Flu, Rhino, E/W, Rabies,
West Nile, and Potomac, (subject to change based on
recommendation of AVMA). Alpha Farm intends to notify
boarders at least 30
days in advance of when annual or semi-annual vaccinations
are due.
7.
Insurance policies are strongly encouraged and may be
required in some rare cases.
Other conditions for board will be specified in the board
contract.
